California Jews Named to Public Position

Harry K. Wolff, leading figure in the local Jewish community, was elected president of the San Francisco Civil Service Commission. He has been a member of that body for the past two years.

Wolff is a past grand president of District Grand Lodge No. 4 of the B’nai B’rith and for years has been active in local Jewish life.

Robert A. Roos, prominent member of the local Jewish community, has been appointed by Governor Rolph as chairman of the northern district of the Spanish War Commemoration Commission, consisting of 65 well-known Californians. The purpose of the commission is to prepare an honor scroll and program for the thirty-fifth annual Spanish-American Encampment to open in Los Angeles August 20.
