William R. Blumenthal, Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Charities of Los Angeles, has accepted the superintendency of the Jewish Welfare Federation of Omaha.
A noteworthy piece of social work accomplished by Mr. Blunenthal was his able direction of the activities of the Jewish Committee for Personal Service to the Jewish inmates of the State institutions in San Francisco. This service, which is the only one of its kind in the United States, consists of looking after the spiritual, physical and mental welfare of the prisoners; bringing them religious messages, books and physical comforts; securing when possible their release on probation, and starting them afresh when they are released.
Mr. Blumenthal is expected to begin his work in Omaha on the 1st of June, devoting himself mainly to Jewish recreational and educational activities.
