California University Honors Its Benefactor

Albert M. Bender, San Francisco patron of the arts, leader in cultural activities and philanthropist, has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Law by the University of California.

At commencement exercises at the state university in Berkeley Mr. Bender was introduced by Prof. Eugen Neuhaus. President Robert Gordon Sproul presented the degree.

Mr. Bender has given the university many rare volumes and has made money donations for the purchase of books and works of art.
