California’s insurance commissioner called for the review of a German insurer’s takeover of a firm based in the state because it is refusing to publish a list of unpaid Holocaustera claims. Chuck Quackenbush’s letter regarding Allianz comes as the International Commission on Holocaust-Era Claims is attempting to settle such claims. Under a new California law, firms doing business there are required to publish such lists.
