In a statement issued from his headquarters here today, Sen, Estes Kefauver said it was “my prayerful hope” that President Truman will veto the McCarran Walter Immigration Bill. The Senator said the bill would “pervert the humane and liberal foundations on which this country was built.”

A resolution calling on President Truman to veto the measure was adopted this weak-end by the Polish-American Congress. The measure is now in Senate-House conference.
