Canadian Jewish leaders began today an intensive drive to enlist all Jewish organizations in the country in an unprecedented campaign for funds to make possible maximum emigration of Jews from Eastern Europe to Israel,
Lawrence Freiman and Samuel Bronfman, co-chairmen of the National Fund Raising Council, in messages today to 150 leaders of major Jewish organisations in the country, summoned them to an emergency conference to be held in Toronto on March 8 to discuss a joint plan of action. The parley is expected to issue a call to Canadian Jewry to participate in the gigantic rescue effort.
