El Al, Israel Airlines, and Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, announced here today that they are undertaking a joint advertising campaign this year, hoping to greatly increase the number of American tourists to Israel.
Moshe Shoshani, Israel Commissioner for Tourism in North America, and David Schneider, General Manager of EI AI in North America, said that the aim of the joint campaign is to increase the number of American tourists to Israel this year to half a million, compared with 405,000 in 1984. They said that the new campaign will have a budget of $1.2 million, with EI AI and the Tourism Ministry contributing 50 percent each.
