Canada does not plan to withdraw its 1,100 man contingent serving with the United Nations Emergency Force along the Israel Egyptian border, Prime Minister John Dietenbaker told the House of Commons here today.
Mr. Diefenbaker told a questioner that the government’s policy concerning UNEF had not changed since he made a similar statement in the UN General Assembly in September. At that time, he said that Canada would supply men for UNEF as long as the UN considered their presence necessary.
