A violent editorial attack on the character of Canadian Jews is featured in the Coborg World.
The editor is emphatic in his belief that Jews from Germany should not be permitted to settle in the Dominion, on the strength of their co-religionists’ record in this country. Coborg is a small town eighty miles east of Toronto, with a limited Jewish population. The editorial declares:
“By their lack of business ethics. the soulless exploitation of human weakness, and their low standard of living many Jews in Canada have not measured up to our citizenship requirements. It would certainly be the height of folly for the government to allow more of them to come into the country.”
