An increase in rates of pay to interned Jewish refugees in Canada was today announced in the House of Commons in Ottawa. Originally the interned refugees were paid 30 cents a day.

From their meager income the interned refugees in one camp recently decided to contribute one week’s pay towards the relief of their more unfortunate brethren overseas. The Federation of Polish Jews today acknowledged receipt of two cheques for the sum of $428.70 constituting the camp’s contribution for the relief campaign.
