The Canadian Government intends to bring in as many displaced persons as possible between now and next October 31 when the work of the International Refugee Organization is due to end, Milton Gregg, Minister of Labor, told the national conference of the Jewish Labor Committee, this week-end. He praised the contributions made to Canada by Jewish immigrants.
“It is expected that employment conditions will be such that no great difficulty will be experienced in finding jobs for the displaced persons before their arrival here,” the Minister said. The conference re-elected Michael Rubinstein, of Montreal, national president.
