Canada’s foreign minister is touring the Middle East. Pierre Pettigrew is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abas during a six-day tour of the Middle East this week that includes visits to Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Pettigrew has offered Canada’s assistance in building peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
