The Executive Council of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has given approval of a recent government order-in-council whereby Canada’s doors will be opened wider for the admission of thousands of new immigrants, including refugees.
Commenting on the new immigration policy a spokesman for the body stated: “The Chamber believes that the country’s economy is capable of supporting a larger population. An increasing population is a contributing factor to the fullest possible development of our great natural resources and of our high standard of living.”
