John Beattie, self-styled leader of the Canadian Nazi Party, announced today that he planned to hold an open-air rally in a city park and a meeting in a downtown hotel, but was informed within a few hours that neither the park nor the hotel room would be available to him.
Beattie scheduled his open-air rally for next Sunday, in Allen Gardens. The City Parks Commission said that all Sundays for the rest of this summer have been booked at the park. His scheduled hotel rally, on August 14, was to have been addressed, he said, by George Lincoln Rockwell, leader of the American Nazi Party, and by another avowed Canadian Nazi, David Stanley, of Vancouver.
