The United Synagogue of America has awarded its Solomon Schechter Award for Community Achievement to the Canadian Jewish Congress to mark the 200th anniversary of Jewish community life in Canada and in recognition of the notable record of service and achievement.
Mr. Samuel Bronfman, president of the Canadian Jewish Congress, has been invited to the closing banquet of the biennial convention of the United Synagogue of America on November 18 as its guest of honor to accept the award on behalf of the organization which is the representative of Canadian Jewry.
