Canadian Minister of Justice John Turner told the Canadian Jewish Congress yesterday that owing to the short period of time before the Parliament’s summer recess, discussion of a bill outlawing hate literature will not be resumed before autumn.
The minister also told the A.J. Congress that the Canadian Constitution does not permit revocation of citizenship of war criminals who took refuge in Canada after World War II, Revocation is granted in cases where immigration status and subsequent naturalization were fraudulently obtained, as by a false statement regarding the petitioner’s former activities,
