A Canadian veteran of the last war, Jacob Glusman, who is now living in the Jewish autonomous territory of Biro-Bidjan; has turned over the monthly pension checks he receives from the Canadian Government to the Red Army, to be used to buy fur mittens for men at the front, it is reported here today.
Glusman, who is now 63, emigrated to Canada in 1910 and joined the Canadian Army in 1914 at the outbreak of the war. He served with great valor in many campaigns, was wounded at Verdun, and holds decorations of the British, French and Canadian Governments. He lived in Canada from the conclusion of the war until 1930, when he emigrated to Biro-Bidjan.
