The acceptance of applications from Canadian and American college students with at least two years of undergraduate work for a year’s special study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was announced here today by Dr. Samuel Cass of the Canadian Friends of the University. The deadline for filing applications is March 1.
At present 19 college students from the U. S. and Canada are attending the third such special one-year course. The next one will get under way in Jerusalem early in July and last through June 1959. Dr. Cass said. The program is designed for students who wish to acquire an extensive knowledge of the Hebrew language and the fundamentals of Jewish thought, history and literature, and to learn about modern Israel in its Middle East setting.
