The city of Saskatoon will be host to the Tenth National Convention of Canadian Young Judaea which will be held September 2, 3 and 4, it was announced here today by the central office of The Federation of Young Judaea of Canada. This will mark the first time in the history of the Zionist Youth Movement in Canada that a national convention will be held in the West.
Preliminary preparations are already under way. Chaim Kashner, Max Zaitlen, Freeman Goodman, Blossom Goorevitch, Estelle Mallin, Tillie Gropper, Seda Singer, Florence Balzak, Meyer Sharzer, Manuel Bogoch, A. Kassen and Harry Brown, are in charge of arrangements.
Representatives from every part of the Dominion will attend the convention. At present membership in the organization numbers 3,500, with 200 clubs registered in fifty-four cities and towns.
Officers of the organization include Harry Batshaw of Montreal, president; Chaim Kushner, Dr. Mark Zimmerman of Toronto and William Guss, vice-presidents; M. J. Garmaise of Montreal, honorary secretary; S. H. Abramson of Montreal, honorary treasurer; A. M. Klein of Montreal, educational director, and Miss E. Waterman of Montreal, executive secretary.
