An appeal for defensive arms for Israel was voiced here yesterday at the closing session of the founding convention of the Canadian Labor Congress composed of the merging AFL and CIO groups. The delegates of the 1,000,000 member organization urged the Canadian Government to release arms to Israel so that she could match in quality, if not in quantity, the arms which Arab states are receiving from the Communist bloc.
