Aid for the victims of “political persecution and unprovoked aggression” will be made a major feature of “national peace action week,” to be inaugurated in Canada on Nov. 6 by the Canadian League of Nations Society, it was announced here today by Senator Cairine Wilson, president. Senator Wilson in a statement condemned the “spread of new barbarism as represented by Germany.”
Jewish and other Canadian leaders, she said, will be invited by the society to sit on a national committee to aid in solution of the refugee problem by arousing canadian public opinion and requesting immediate government action. Myron c. taylor, american vice-chairman of the Intergovernmental Refugee Committee, will be invited to Canada during observance of the peace week.
