A drive for tools and machinery required in ORT institutions will be launched in Canada, it was decided here today at the first meeting of the board of directors of the newly constituted Canadian ORT Federation. The decision was taken following a report made by Dr. H. Sonnabend, special envoy of the World ORT Union.
One of the projects decided upon at today’s meeting was to equip an ORT training school in Israel. A committee composed of prominent persons connected with the industrial and commercial life of Canada will assist in the campaign. The ORT board here is composed of leading personalities associated with the Canadian Jewish Congress, the Zionist Organization and other Jewish groups. Leon D. Crestohl, member of parliament, is president of the ORT Federation and Lazarus Philipps is honorary president.
