Canadian Supreme Court Will Rule on Barring of Jews from Acquiring Real Estate

The Supreme Court of Canada will be asked to pass judgment on the legality of a covenant which bars Jews and other minority groups from acquiring property at the Beach O’ Pines resort area, near this city.

The covenant has already been upheld by the Ontario Court of Appeals. The appeal to the highest court was taken by Mrs. Maude Noble, who is not Jewish. She sold a piece of property in the resort area to Bernard Wolfe, a businessman from London, Ontario. Mr. Wolfe is joining in the appeal. The sale was barred by the restrictive clause of the covenant.
