A 12-foot-high candelabrum will be kindled on Chanukah eve in front of the Polish Mission to the United Nations to symbolize demands for freedom for Polish Jews and to protest the “show trials” of Jewish students and others in Warsaw who have been accused of responsibility for last spring’s student uprising. The event, to take place Sunday evening, Dec. 15, was announced today by Jacob Birnbaum, national coordinator of the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry, which is sponsoring it. Mr. Birnbaum said that city officials are expected to attend.
