The Jerusalem correspondent of the Daily Herald today quoted Arab leaders as replying to questions from High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope that “the violent section of our movement is beyond our control; we cannot and will not repudiate them.”
The despatch said the Arabs sent a delegation to Emir Ibn Saud, ruler of Saudi Arabia, urging him to use his influence for cessation of violence and to intercede with Great Britain for granting of concessions to the Arabs. Ibn Saud refused, the Herald stated.
