Richard Cardinal Cushing, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston, has contributed a personal gift to a women’s religious-Zionist organization in the U.S. to further education of Jewish children in Israel.
In a note accompanying a contribution of $500 to the Mizrachi Women’s Organization of America, Cardinal Cushing wrote that “no education is complete without a knowledge of God that prompts us to love Him and one another.” The gift, presented by the Cardinal to Mrs. Samuel Rubin, president of the Greater Boston Council of Mizrachi Women, will help to provide tuitional scholarships for recently arrived children.
