Judge Benjamin N. Cardozo, chief justice of the New York Court of Appeals and Monte M. Leman of New Orleans, a member of the Hoover Crime Commission are suggested by the New York “Telegram” as the type of men to be selected to fill the vacancy in the United States Supreme Court caused by the death of Justice Sanford. The “Telegram” terms Judge Cardozo a man “whose eminence as a jurist is almost unique.”
