The Jewish Agency executive, at a meeting held here today–prior to the departure for the United States of its chairman, Berl Locker, and its treasurer, Levi Eshkol–elected a “caretaker” management to supervise Agency activities. This group is composed of Joseph Sprinzak, Speaker of the Knesset; Dr. Abraham Granott, head of the Jewish National Fund; and Arthur Hantke, director of the Keren Hayesod.
Locker and Eshkol will participate in the forthcoming National Planning Conference for Israel and Jewish Rehabilitation, to be held in Washington October 27-29. It will be attended by some 1,500 Jewish leaders from all sections of the country representing all elements in the U.S. Jewish community.
