Bequests in the amount of $10,000 each to Harvard University and Wellsely College; $5,000 to the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies and $1,000 each to the New York Society for the Blind and the Actors’ Fund of America, were left in the will of Arthur L. Carns.
Mr. Carns, who died on October 13, 1931, left an estate valued at $661,623 net.
Funeral services were held in Long Beach for former Mayor Clarence J. Housman. The deceased served as Mayor for four years, being the first Jew ever to hold this office.
