Carpathian Jews in the Sudeten town of Aussig were rounded up this week for deportation to the Soviet Union, but were released following complaints by the Jewish community to the government, it was learned today.
An investigation of the incident, the second to occur within a fortnight, has been ordered by the government, which attributed the deportation order to local Slovak officials.
