Sentencing David Frankfurter to 18 years imprisonment does not close the case, German newspapers said today in special editions announcing the verdict, the Havas News Agency reported.
“Numerous important questions were not cleared up,” a semi-official German news agency said, “but one cannot blame the Swiss court. Another authority must clarify the question. If now the Reich takes this affair in hand nobody can criticise it for mixing in the trial.
“World Judaism may be certain of one thing,” the Voelkischer Beobachter wrote. “Neither David Frankfurter nor those behind him carried out the mission which was confided to them for the profit of world Judaism.”
