The autonomous Catalan government has offered to send a commission of “two or three Catalan and Jewish persons” to America to give information about “the anti-Semitism of the Spanish Fascists and about the attitude of the legal Government in this question.”
In a letter received here from Barcelona, the Commissariat of Propaganda said its offer was prompted by receipt of several inquiries from Jewish organizations and persons on the situation of the Jews in the civil war. Cooperation was asked in covering the expenses of the delegation.
