Rabbi Israel Goldstein, president of the American Jewish Congress, sharply criticized the Tablet last night, a diocesan weekly published in Brooklyn, for its attack on the late Rabbi Stephen S. Wise.
The Tablet had recently upheld the charges made by Benjamin Gitlow before the House Committee on Un-American Activities that Dr. Wise, the late Rabbi Judah L. Magnes, John Holmes and other Protestant clergymen had collaborated with the Communists “in the early 1920’s.”
