Eli Geldin, a prominent Jewish communal leader here, has been awarded an honorary doctorate of philosophy by Assumption University, a Catholic institution which he serves as a member of its Board of Regents. Mr. Geldin was honored along with five Catholic clergymen and 11 laymen.
A native of Russia, Mr. Geldin has been in Canada since 1923. He is a past president of the Windsor Jewish Community Council and is active in the work of the B’nai B’rith, the Council of Christians and Jews, the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts.
