A large delegation of the Confederation of Catholic Workers of Canada presented their legislative program to Premier R.B. Bennett and asked the Government to prohibit the mass immigration of German Jews to Canada, particularly to the province of Quebec.
The Premier assured the delegation that immigration had now been so restricted that the total for the last three years was around 30,000, whereas in the twelve months before the present administration assumed office 165,000 people had come to Canada.
