Preparations for a Jewish population census of Alameda and Contra Costa counties during the month of October were completed here today. The survey is one of the few such census undertakings in the United States.
The census will be taken by volunteers working from the Oakland Jewish Community Center under the direction of Dr. Samuel C. Kohns, Jewish Welfare Board Western States Section director, who recently completed a similar project in Portland, Oregon.
