Census Shows Decrease of Jews in Germany

The numerical strength of the Jewish population in Germany has decreased considerably during the last fifteen years, according to the first returns of the national census taken during 1925.

The figures show that the Jewish population, in comparison with the situation in 1910, has decreased considerably, particularly in the smaller states. For instance, the Jewish population in the state of Wurtemberg was 1115 less in 1925 than in 1910; in Hessen, the Jewish population was 3662 less in 1925 than in 1910, or a decrease of 15.2%; in Baden the population has decreased 2,000, or 7.7% since 1910.
