The centennial anniversary of Temple Beth Zion here was celebrated during the week-end at a special religious service. Founded in 1850, the original Beth Zion congregation was absorbed by the Reform movement in 1864. The present building housing the synagogue was constructed in 1890.
In addition to a centennial religious service, in which Dr. Joseph L. Fink, rabbi of the Temple for the last 26 years, officiated, the celebration was marked with a special performance of an historical play depicting the first 100 years of the institution.
