Several thousand persons attended a meeting last night marking the centennial of the birth of L.L. Peretz, father of modern Yiddish literature. Among the speakers at the meeting, which was held in the auditorium of Hunter College here, were Shmuel Niger, critic; and the poets Abraham Reisen and Hayim Grade.
