The Confederation of Representative Agencies of the Brazilian Jewish Community, Cercib, decided to accept an invitation to enter the World Zionist Organization as an associate member, it was announced here today. The invitation was extended by Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the WZO during his visit here several days ago.
A statement made public by the Cercib, following a special meeting, said that central Jewish body took into consideration the fact that the great majority of Brazilian Jews recognize the new Zionist program with the modifications introduced in Jerusalem, and therefore decided to accept Dr. Goldmann’s invitation to become an associate member of the World Zionist Organization.
