The Central Jewish committee of Germany has issued a statement asserting that it is adhering “strictly” to its promises of liquidating as soon as possible all DP camps in the American zone of Germany and moving the displaced Jews out of this country.
The statement also declared that the Committee does not agree with the Jewish communities in Germany which feel that Jews may rebuild a life in this country. Without specifically naming organizations or individuals involved, the Committee has placed itself on record as opposing all efforts to keep Jews in Germany, and has stated that there “is no possibility” of maintaining an organized Jewish life in Germany.
