The Central Union of the German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, today called the attention of the Reich and State authorities to the agitation for violence against Jews which has become so alarming a feature of Nazi meetings and articles in the Nazi press. In its communication, the Central Union refers particularly to the case of Nurenburg where members of the Nazi Storm Troops are openly calling for physical action against the Jews. The communication adds that the hatred which is thus being spread does not halt with the Jews but is “poisoning the German soul and producing an agitation which spreads far beyond the limits of Jewry;” and it is therefore, the moral duty of the government to protect Jews who are faithful to the State and who are eager to share in the process of German upbuilding.
