Twenty-one ambulances given by United States sources to the Israeli Red Mogen David wore turned over to Mayor Israel Rokach today at a ceremony in Municipal Square in Tel Aviv.
Mayor Rokach thanked the American Jewish community and the United States trench of Red Mogen David for their generosity and voiced especial gratitude to Auftau, Jewish German-language weekly published in Hew York City. The weekly contributed one of the ambulances for the Tel Aviv municipality.
Five of the 21 ambulances were presented to the Israeli Army while the others were to be distributed among various first aid centers in Israel. Fourteen more ambulances from the United States are on the way to Israel and an additional 15 have been ordered. Previously Israel received 17 ambulances from Americans.
