Chaim Yankelevitch, Argentinian radio manufacturer and owner of a large radio station here, has aroused the ire of the local Jewish anti-Hitler committee to such an extent that it has brought a motion that Yankelevitch’s name be struck from the rolls of all Jewish organizations and institutions of which he is a member if he cannot satisfactorily explain his apparently anti-Jewish action.
Yankelevitch went to Germany on a German ship, with the intention of buying German goods for his radio station and factory. While in Berlin he delivered the translation of a speech delivered by Alfred Rosenberg at the Argentine Embassy on July 9, the Argentine National Holiday. The speech was relayed to the Argentine through Yankelevitch’s radio station.
The incident aroused a great deal of bitterness in all Jewish circles here.
