Chairman of the Chase Manhattan Bank, David Rockefeller, has arrived in Israel “as a banker” for a two-day visit during which he will meet with Premier Golda Meir, Finance Minister Pinhas Sapir, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, Deputy Premier Yigal Allon and Foreign Minister Abba Eban. Rockefeller has arrived with two vice-presidents of the bank and some other aides from a visit to several Arab oil producing states and he seems to be convinced that the oil boycott will be lifted soon. He stressed he came to Israel on business not as a politician but because “we have connections with Israeli banks.” From Israel he will proceed to Egypt.
