A group of German youths who were trained here as Chalutzim, to work on the soil in Palestine, and who were scheduled to return this week to Germany to bid farewell to their families before proceeding to Palestine, today cancelled their plans, fearing that they might be taken to concentration camps as soon as they reached Germany.
The entire group has elected to remain here to wait for their immigration certificates which they are to receive from Palestine.
The certificates normally are sent to Germany, but under the present circumstances, it is believed that the Palestine Immigration Office will agree to send them directly here in order to spare the youths possible arrest on their return to Germany to receive, the certificates.
