A temporary permit to allow slaughtering of meat in Tel Aviv has been granted to the Jews of that city by High Commissioner Chancellor. The site of the slaughter house is that of an old tannery owned by Lefkovitch where the Jews had been slaughtering ever since the riots until the government forbade it as a result of a protest from the Jaffa municipality. The Jews of Tel Aviv have gone without meat for almost two weeks as a result of the government’s ban on slaughtering in Tel Aviv. Yesterday Rabbis Uziel and Aronsohn went to Jerusalem to discuss the situation with the High Commissioner.
