Navy authorities today announced the promotion of Chaplain Joshua L. Goldberg to the rank of Commander.
Commander Goldberg helds the post of Assistant District Chaplain of the Third Naval District. He joined the Navy at the outbreak of the war and toured the front lines of the European theatre. Prior to being commissioned in the Navy, he served as rabbi in Astoria, Long Island. He is a graduate of the Jewish Institute of Religion and is well known as a lecturer and linguist.
