Charging that attempts are being made by different groups to introduce religious education in the public schools, Mrs. William Bauernschmidt, secretary of the Public School Association, yesterday said the time has arrived to issue a warning. The Board of School Commissioners, she asserted, has received numerous requests for such information, but each time the requests were sent to the committee on rules for action and in each case a negative decision was returned.
Among those who have approached her, she said, is the International Bible Students’ League, which broadcasts over the radio at stated intervals.
