An Endek majority in the faculty of the Lwow Polytechnic Institute forced institution of the “Jim Cros” system of segregating Jewish students in the classrooms, Deputy Emil Sommerstein today informed the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
The Jewish Deputies Club forwarded a demand to the city authorities of Lwow that the order, which is the first of its kind to be adopted by a higher institution of learning in Poland, be rescinded.
Jewish students who walked out of their classes yesterday in protest against the segregation were today ordered by the school authorities to return or penalty of being dropped from the rolls.
